What our hosts & partners are saying

“The Mobile Short‑Term Rental Alliance has genuinely made a difference for me as a host. Instead of leaving us to figure things out on our own, they’ve been a steady source of guidance, clarity, and real support as I navigate this industry. Their workshops and resources have helped me run my place better and feel more confident about the decisions I make. I’ve also met so many other hosts through their networking events, and those connections have grown into a community of people who understand the work, share openly, and genuinely want to see each other win. Overall, MSTRA has supported me, educated me, and given me a community that shares some of the same experiences.”

“Thank you to the MSTRA staff for stepping in to help me with a service issue I was having with Airbnb. After they reached out on our behalf, Airbnb support re-opened the tickets and offered additional help that I truly do not think I would have gotten otherwise. Left on my own, I likely would have had to let the issue go and move on.
That alone made it clear to me that the dues are worth it. If you’ve been on the fence about joining or renewing, I’d encourage you to do it. This is a worthwhile cause, and the money is not being wasted. There’s real value in having knowledgeable people advocating for our industry and for individual operators when issues come up. Grateful for the help and glad to be part of the group.”

“As both a host and a service provider specializing in historic home renovations and repairs, I understand how important it is to maintain a high standard in every property. As hosts, we have a responsibility to our guests and our community to keep our homes well-maintained and operating at the highest level. I’ve personally restored many neglected properties—bringing them back to life and helping elevate the value of the surrounding neighborhood. We take pride in the homes we care for and the community we’re part of.”

“We began our host journey five years ago and had to learn everything on our own. Joining MSTRA made us realize that we are not alone in this short-term rental adventure. Connecting with other local hosts, whose goals are to support one another, understand our rights, and give back to the community, aligns perfectly with our purpose of being responsible and engaged hosts in Mobile. We appreciate what MSTRA has done for us and are excited for more upcoming initiatives.”

“As both a host and the owner of a cleaning service, I see firsthand how this industry creates jobs and supports local businesses. It has allowed me to support my family in ways that wouldn’t have been possible otherwise, while also creating meaningful opportunities for my employees and their families. MSTRA is helping bring a high level of professionalism, standards, and support to hosts and their service partners—strengthening our community, supporting our local economy, and helping Mobile be a top-tier destination and a great place to live.”

Local Business–Avera Design
“As a real estate photographer working closely with property owners, agents, and short-term rental hosts, I see firsthand how much presentation matters. High-quality visuals don’t just market a property—they set the standard for an entire market. When hosts invest in professional media and operate at a higher level, it elevates expectations across the board. That benefits not only property owners, but also the local businesses and service providers who support the short-term rental industry.”

Host & Local Business–Skyline Roofing
“My experience as a property owner and host has shown me how important it is to have a strong network of people who understand this space. Early on, I realized that trying to figure everything out on your own can be overwhelming, especially in a market that’s constantly evolving. Being part of MSTRA has given me the opportunity to connect with other local hosts, share knowledge, and support one another in a way that strengthens all of us.
There’s real value in having a group that advocates for our industry, provides guidance, and helps set a higher standard for short-term rentals in Mobile. As the owner of Skyline Roofing & Contracting, I also work with homeowners and hosts across the area, so I see firsthand how much short-term rentals contribute to our local economy. They don’t just support property owners, they create opportunities for small businesses and keep money moving within our community. That’s why supporting other hosts matters to me. When we raise the standard together and take pride in what we’re building, it benefits everyone involved.”

Local Business–Homefront Lending
“As a mortgage broker, I work with many real estate investors who are interested in purchasing short-term rental properties, and one of the biggest factors in their success is having the right strategy and guidance from the beginning. That’s exactly what this team provides.
When investors take the time to build a strong foundation like this, it not only increases their confidence but also sets them up for long-term success in the short-term rental space. It’s always a pleasure helping these investors secure the financing that allows them to bring their short-term rental goals to life.”

“As a property owner, host, and service provider offering cleaning, handyman, and waste management services within the short-term rental industry, I was very pleased to discover MSTRA. I understand firsthand the importance of consistency, clear communication, and protecting the guest experience—three areas in which MSTRA has provided meaningful support.
Being part of this alliance has already proven valuable, allowing me to connect with other professionals, grow my business, and contribute to raising the standard for short-term rentals in the Mobile area. MSTRA fosters an environment where owners, hosts, and service providers can collaborate, share knowledge, and learn from one another, all while building a stronger, more unified community.”
